Neil Hersh, M.D.
Neil Hersh, M.D. completed medical school at the University of Chicago and has practiced in southern California since 1986. His postgraduate training included Internal Medicine and Anesthesiology.

Dr. Hersh embraces a “holistic approach” to wellness, which includes numerous forms of “alternative and complimentary” healthcare modalities. He utilizes advanced diagnostic techniques, including the performance of small pain fiber nerve conduction studies, a painless test which is able to identify the cause of nerve pain and allows for precisely targeted rehabilitation, towards the “root cause” of the patient’s pain.

When Dr. Weiland is not in the office treating his patients, he enjoys spending his free time on cars, audio, computers, reading and studying health to better help his patients. He attends 5 to 10 times more seminars per year than required by the state for license renewal.

In 1969, after returning from the Marine Corps, Bruce Weiland returned to college as pre-dental student. He had a double major in biology and biochemistry. He was working at night as a mechanic, turning wrenches and illustrating a botany manual during the day, drawing leaves and flowers and such, to help pay my way through school.

His right hand began to feel puffy in the mornings. Some days it even looked puffy. He went to the medical clinic and they did this test and that test. They gave him a number of different drugs. After six months the problems had progressed to both hands. He could not use a pen for more than a couple of minutes without severe pain. He would have to put the pen down and shake his hand just to get enough control to make the next stroke.

Bruce eventually went to a chiropractor. The chiropractor was in his 80′s and although a very experienced and a pleasant gentleman, he took no x-rays and only performed a brief exam. After 3 weeks of his care Bruce was still getting worse.

Since Bruce had given the medical people 6 months, he did not give up on chiropractic. He got referred to a younger doctor, who took X-Rays, did a complete exam and found the problems.

Within three months Bruce’s hands were normal. Not only that, but a whole binder page of symptoms that he “thought” were totally unrelated, were gone.

A few months after that, he realized that he did not want to be a dentist. He wanted to do for others what had been done for him.
